How browser-local tally storage works, how to clear it, and what our hosting and security providers process.

Lumber Tally has no accounts, advertising or analytics scripts. The calculator runs in your browser and does not send your tally to us.

What is saved, and where

When you enter a tally, your measurements, labels, and prices are saved automatically to your browser's local storage so the list survives a page reload. That storage lives only in the browser you are using, on the device you are using it on. The calculator does not send these values to a server. Editing, adding, duplicating or removing a row updates the saved tally when saving is enabled.

Clearing your tally

Clear saved tally clears the current tally and removes its saved copy, then disables automatic saving. A local preference records that saving is off. Adding a row does not re-enable it: choose Enable local saving to opt back in. If the browser refuses to clear storage, the page warns you to remove this site's data in your browser settings.

If saving fails

Some browsers or privacy settings block local storage entirely, or run out of space. When that happens, the page tells you saving is unavailable; the calculator itself keeps working normally in that session, you just will not have a saved tally to return to next time.

What the server sees

Cloudflare delivers and protects this website. It processes connection and request information, including IP addresses, requested URLs and browser headers. Its security features may use cookies to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated traffic. See Cloudflare's privacy policy and security cookie documentation.

The static origin runs on a Hetzner server. We do not enable routine HTTP access logs in the website server. Service errors and connection diagnostics may be recorded for troubleshooting; we do not promise that infrastructure logs contain no request information. Provider retention depends on the service and its policies. See Hetzner's privacy policy.

Browser storage is separate from this connection information. You can remove your saved tally with the controls above or clear this site's data in your browser. Saving preferences and tallies do not follow you to another browser or domain.
